Finials

Top off your stall posts with our flat finials, available in plain aluminum, powder coated aluminum, or solid brass. These are molded from sand cast molds and have a nubby texture, but can be polished upon arrival for extra "bling" in your barn. Round brass finials are the icing on the cake, so to speak, and are mounted on top of the flat finial. These are polished to a beautiful sheen prior to shipment.

Powder coating finish

Now included as a standard item on all of our fabricated steel products, powder coating is the strongest and most beautiful finish you can apply to steel. Choose from 192 colors, or we'll custom mix a color for you (additional charges may apply). Prior to powder coating, all steel is first bead blasted to remove any impurities or imperfections, and then pre-baked as an additional purification measure. After applying a primer base coat, the colored powder is applied electrostatically and then baked on for a long-lasting and durable finish. Call us for a free powder coating color chart to see all the colors you have to choose from.

Rotating feeder door

Want a super-slick way to feed directly from your barn aisle? Order one of our rotating feeder doors with your stalls, and experience the easy way to feed. Built into one of the stall wings, the feeder - made of heavy duty cast aluminum - rotates a full 360 degrees, and is attached at the back to a flat panel powder coated to match your stall.

Hinged feeder door

Our hinged feeder door - designed for our sliding horse stalls - has a two-fold purpose. Besides the obvious benefit of not having to open the stall door to feed, it also serves as a yoke - but not a drop-down yoke, as we believe they are a safety hazard in a barn. Built with a unique plunger latch system, the door opens out, not down. And ask us about our door magnets, which allow you to keep the feeder door open, should you choose.

Swinging double-hinged partition

Swinging partitions are fabricated on a custom basis for foaling stalls. This is a unique method of returning the stall area to normal size after weaning, allowing for an additional stall without taking up valuable barn space.

Standing stall partition

Another non-standard stall partition available from Innovative Equine Systems is our standing stall partition. A typical use for this kind of divider is in an over-sized area where you'll have the opportunity of having 2 horses use the space at the same time. With the 2 posts on each end bolted to your floor, this partition can stand on its own - no other structural attachment is needed.

Tie post

Our tie posts are the 21st century version of the wild wild west posts that the cowboys would use to tie their horses outside the saloons. Made of the same sturdy materials found in our horse stalls, the 2 posts are fully welded to a cross-member. Use these outside your barn, or inside, as shown here in a wash stall. (Note the safe, non-slip rubber flooring underfoot - also available from Innovative Equine - as well as the bottom half of our rotating wash wand.)

Exotic hardwood

Optional 1x5 exotic tongue and groove hardwood is available, and its beauty and durability will add so much to your barn. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests, and because it has a fire rating approaching that of steel (it will actually self-extinguish), it's a great safety feature as well. Add in the fact that the wood is highly resistant to decay, humidity, fungi and termites, and you have the perfect wood choice. Although we ship this cut to fit the various parts of your order, it must be ripped to fit the steel frames.

High-density polyethylene lumber

We also have a solid, tongue and groove high-density polyethylene lumber available, which is extruded with a wood grain so it actually looks like real lumber, and is available in many colors. It has properties that real lumber doesn't, however, including a slippery texture that horses don't like to chew on, a virtually maintenance free surface, and resistance to splintering, cracking, insects, moisture and rot.

Grilled yokes

Grilled yokes are available for attachment to the shutter or upper part of the Dutch door. Fresh air and horse socialization are top factors in choosing this option; when the building siding is edible, adding this beauty will prevent your horse from reaching through the Dutch door to chew on the wood. The grills are fabricated using heavy-gauge 1/2" pipe (3/4" O.D.) that is 3" O.C. and held in place with rivet nuts.

Radiused tops

Radiused tops for Dutch doors and shutters are a dramatic method of improving the architectural style of the barn at a minimal cost. Both the pre-hung steel frame and the door itself are radiused; care should be taken as to how the reveal on the inside of the door frame is finished out. Internal "chew" frames can also be provided to match the exterior.

Custom fabrication

Innovative Equine Systems is known for the quality and design of our stalls, Dutch doors, stall partitions and barn doors. What you may not know, however, is that we also specialize in custom fabrication. On many projects over the years, we've consulted with our clients and come up with some pretty fantastic "outside the box" products, including a beautiful custom barn bathroom for a VIP on the west coast. Let us help fabricate your design dreams.

Finishes

Our finishing process is unparalled. After bead blasting the steel to remove all impurities, we start with a coat of zinc-rich primer, which gives superior corrosion protection. And then comes the color, and it's powder coated - not painted. Superior gloss and color retention and excellent weather resistance are but two of the characteristics that makes this the top choice for beautifying and protecting your stalls. Pick from 188 colors or ask us about color matching.
